Situated in the little village of Sproxton, (locally pronounced “Sprosun”), not far from the famous market town of Melton Mowbray which is locally branded the Rural Capital of Food. And for its pork pies which carry world wide status.


The Crown, nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, is popular with tourists and ramblers. We are not far from the historical and recreational route of the Viking Way. And the picturesque Vale of Belvoir (pronounced “Beaver”) which is famous for its castle, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland. And not to forget our world famous “King of Cheeses”…Stilton (pronounced Stilton!)


Your hosts Anna and Alan Edmonds offer a warm welcoming atmosphere, regularly rotated real ales and great food.
